Substance Abuse

The Substance Abuse Program of New Life Center is designed to provide assistance to individuals and families affected by drug and alcohol addiction. Through intake screening, education, and counseling, NLCRC will assist individuals prone to substance abuse to resist addiction and to live productive, spirit-filled lives.

The Substance Abuse program consists of four tracks that address drug education, relapse prevention, decision-making, and social skills. Alcohol and drug addiction is a disease that affects the individual mentally, physically and spiritually. The program will consist of psycho-educational sessions held in small groups, which will address topics such as the basis of addiction, self-awareness and assessment, addiction as a family disease, relapse prevention strategies, communication skills, relationships, self-esteem building, goal setting, and lifestyle changes. Through the Substance Abuse program, these tracks will educate and inform clients by focusing on how addiction affects all areas of life.
